Sharon Gunderson![]() |
Violinist Sharon Gunderson, born and raised in Flagstaff, Arizona, received her Bachelor of Music degree from Boston's New England Conservatory. Her teacher and mentor for the last eleven years is the great Manhattan violin guru Joey Corpus. During her nearly 12 years in New York City, Sharon has performed with the New York Grand Opera at Carnegie Hall, Musica Viva at All Souls Church, and as concertmaster with the Orchestra of the Bronx. She has appeared with André Watts, Itzak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, Johnny Mathis, Dianne Reeves, and Bernadette Peters, as well as the Late Show with David Letterman. In 2004 Sharon had the opportunity to play opera in Tuscany, Italy. Sharon was one of many volunteer musicians who played for the recovery workers at St. Paul's Chapel next to Ground Zero. It was there that she first played with Mary Bopp. Sharon recently presented two solo recitals at Saint Peter's Lutheran Church in Midtown, where she is also an active member and liturgical assistant. She has lived for over six years in central Harlem. |

Mary Bopp has performed as a solo pianist and collaborative artist in a wide variety of settings ranging from Weill Hall to the Knitting Factory (broadcast live on WFMU) and the Los Angeles Bach Festival to the New York International Fringe Festival. She was pianist and co-director of the Ouluska Pass Chamber Music Festival and is pianist and co-founder of Resonant Spectra. In 2001-2002 she was a coordinator/ performer in daily concerts for the World Trade Center rescue and recovery workers at St. Paul's Chapel. Mary made her debut at the age of thirteen, performing the Mozart Concerto in D minor, K. 466 with the Peninsula Symphony in her native California. She proceeded to win numerous awards and honors including first place in the Music Teachers Association of California state solo competition. Sponsored by the MTAC, she gave a series of recitals throughout the state as a Young Artists Guild Award winner. She earned her Master's degree from Manhattan School of Music with Constance Keene and Marc Silverman, followed by post-graduate studies with Phillip Kawin and with John Perry as a scholarship student at the Aspen Music School. She has performed in master classes for Lili Kraus, Jerome Lowenthal, John Browning, Grant Johannesen, and Vladimir Feltsman. Mary lives in Astoria, Queens. |
Margrét Hjaltested![]() |
Violist Margrét Hjaltested performs regularly as a recitalist, chamber player and orchestra player in the New York area. She has played with orchestras such as Brooklyn Philharmonic, Key West Symphony and Westchester Philharmonic. On baroque viola she has performed with the American Classical Orchestra and the Clarion Music Society. Margrét has toured internationally both with chamber groups and orchestras, including the New York Symphonic Ensemble and Luciano Pavarotti's International Farewell tour. She has recorded and performed with Paul McCartney, Aretha Franklin, Tony Bennett and Björk. Her television appearances have included The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman and the October 2001 Concert for New York City, broadcast live from Madison Square Garden. As a proud resident of Sunnyside, Queens, Margrét is on the faculty of Queens College and Summerkeys in Lubec, Maine. She is a graduate of the Reykjavík College of Music, the Juilliard School and the Mannes College of Music. |
Marc Tagle![]() |
A graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, cellist Marc Tagle has traveled throughout the United States, China, London, the Philippines, Taiwan, Italy, and Canada performing both chamber and solo recitals. He was under the guidance of Irene Sharp at the San Francisco Conservatory and Kit Brainard during his formative years. Marc has participated in the Amadeus, Muir, and Audubon String Quartet seminars as well as numerous festivals, including Aspen, California Summer Music, Amati Festival in the Catskills, and Le Domaine Forget Festival in Québec. Formerly a resident of Riverdale in the Bronx, Marc and his wife recently moved to Washington Heights in Manhattan. He teaches at the Children's Orchestra Society in Long Island, the Hoff-Barthelson summer program in Westchester, the Westport School of Music, and the Bronxville School. |
